Along the Pesa from Cerbaia to Sambuca
Municipality San Casciano in Val di Pesa
OUTDOOR / TRAILS / CHIANTI
We begin in Cerbaia from the Pablo Picasso car park.
You descend along a cobbled road after crossing a chain and turn left, skirting the Pesa.
Follow the road, which is always wide and climbs up the river with little slope. We leave numerous forks on the left and reach the Ponte Rotto locality.
Climb up to the tarmac road and cross it, descending on the opposite side to the natural-bed road that continues along the Pesa. You cross a small ford and after a few hundred metres you cross another ford. You reach the La Botte park.
Continue further and you reach the locality of Calzaiolo, where you must cross the river on the road bridge and follow the track on the other side, passing a barrier. Follow the track in this less evident section until you reach the road via del Pergolato where you must cross the Pesa again.
Follow the track for another 4 km or so until you reach Sambuca and the Borro del Lavatoio crossing where a few metres before is the municipal boundary of San Casciano.
The route can also be travelled in the opposite direction.
